Our People
KRC Machine Tool Services has drawn together some of the best machine tool specialists in the nation. Our Retrofit Engineers and Electrical Technicians are proficient with all the major CNC controls, including GE Fanuc, Siemens and Mazatrol. KRC is an authorized Siemens solution provider, a 5-Star Retrofitter for GE Fanuc and is the only authorized Mazatrol integrator in North America. Our Machine Tool Mechanics are experienced in rebuilding machine tool mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components.
KRC’s Service Engineers each have an average of 10 to 15 years experience troubleshooting CNC machine tools of all types. Additionally, the majority of KRC’s Executives, Managers and Sales personnel have come from a hands-on machine tool background. Our customers have confidence in our experience, knowledge and commitment to quality.
KRC Machine Tool Service is dedicated to on-going training and education for our technicians. We strive to keep our technicians up-to-date on all the latest control advancements and new machine tool technology.
KRC is also committed to training the next generation of machine tool specialists, in partnership with local high schools and Gateway Community & Technical College through their co-op program.

 | Thomas W. Luzak CEO & majority owner Luzak founded KRC with four other partners in 1989, and has more than 37 years of experience in engineering and manufacturing management positions, including 22 years in the machine tool industry. As CEO, he crafts KRC’s long-range strategic objectives and initiates strategic partnerships. KRC maintains an “open book” management philosophy, sharing equity and profits with employees. Luzak espouses to many of the Michael Gerber philosophies (E-Myth Management), a “franchise mentality” of a process-driven approach to all business functions. Luzak also believes in formal coaching of the management team to set and work individual plans in order to align all managers with the company’s long-range strategic objectives. In addition to his ownership in Kentucky Rebuild Corp., Luzak recently acquired a majority interest in a start-up Mexican engineering and telecommunications businesses.
Luzak began his career working as an engineer and manufacturing manager for large corporations, such as Corning Glass, Combustion Engineering, and General Signal Corporation. Seven years prior to founding Kentucky Rebuild Corp., Luzak worked in the private sector in the machine tool remanufacturing industry in sales and operations management. Tom holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Technology.

|  | Scott Ashworth President Scott is one of the founding partners of KRC. He has been in the machine tool rebuilding industry for 27 years. Scott began as a technician then moved up to Plant Manager. Before becoming President, he was the Vice President of Operations. Scott has a Bachelors degree in Electronic Engineering and attended both Northern Kentucky Tech. and the University of Cincinnati.

|  | Jeff Wilmink Vice President of Sales & Marketing Jeff Wilmink has over twenty-seven years experience as a proven Integration Leader in the Mechanical Service Industry. Jeff joined KRC in 2005 and is now Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Before joining KRC he founded Excellence Commitment Inc. and prior to that, held the position of President & CEO of Excellence Alliance Inc., the industries leading “Independent Contractor Alliance”. Prior to founding EAI, he was Vice President of Engineering Excellence, the “ACCA Quality Contractor of the Year” for 1992. In conjunction with his leadership responsibilities at EEI, he also was a member of the Callahan/Roach Associates team where he was a leading trainer on the Quality Improvement Process. Under his leadership, the KRC sales team is poised to reach new heights in sales and service.

|  | Ron Ball Vice President of Operations Ron has been with KRC since 1995. He has held many positions at KRC including: Service Engineer, Applications Engineer, Service Manager, Assistant Production Manager, Systems Analyst, and Production Manager. Ron attended the University of Cincinnati where he majored in Computer Science.

|  | Christine Luken Vice President of HR & Accounting Christine has been with KRC since the summer of 1999. She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northern Kentucky University where she was often found on the deans list. She has also earned an MBA Essentials Certificate and is a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Training program.

|  | Robert Molnar (Mo) Purchasing Manager / Mechanical Tech Advisor Mo is one of the founding partners of KRC. In all he has 27 years experience in the machine tool industry. Mo has done it all; from teardowns and complete mechanical rebuilds including transmissions and spindles; to assisting with major redesign and engineering of custom machine tools and components. Currently, he arranges shipping, both domestic and international, and takes care of acquiring every part including bearings, ball screws and outside machining.

|  | Jimmy Trusty Project Manager Jimmy is also one of the founding partners of KRC. He has 22 years experience in the machine tool industry and has worn many hats here at KRC including Installer, Electrical Engineer, Service Manager, Engineering Manager, and Rebuild/Retrofit Manager.

|  | Kevin Sterling Manager of Sales & Sales Engineering Kevin has 13 years in the machine tool industry, all of them at KRC. He began his career as a Mechanical Technician, moved to Project Leader and then to Mechanical Manager before becoming Manager of Sales and Sales Engineering.

|  | Chris Goodman Project Manager Chris has 15 years experience in the machine tool industry. He began as a Mechanical Technician for KRC and then became a service engineer. He holds an Associates of Applied Technology in Electro-Mechanical Engineering from Cincinnati State.

|  | Dan McMahan Technical Manager Dan began his career with KRC in 1995. He has held several positions including: Mechanical Technician, Electrical Technician, Field Service Engineer and Quality Control Engineer. He has a degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering from Cincinnati Technical College.

|  | Chris Chambers Service Technician Mgr. Chris began his career in the Machine tool industry 12 years ago and started with KRC in 1998 as a Field Service Engineer. He has a degree from DeVry Institute of Technology in Electronics Technology.

|  | Kimberly McLaughlin Service Operations Manager Kimberly began her career at KRC in January 2006. She started as the Service Assistant and has since been promoted to Service Operations Manager.
